After the Prospective Employer Interview
Follow up and feedback
- Immediately after the interview, write an email follow up to the interviewer, regardless of how you think the interview went AND cc email to your Consultant.
- Be professional, be warm, be relevant, be brief.
- Thank them for their time and for the opportunity to be considered by their company.
- Reiterate any important points discussed during interview to ensure they know you were listening.
- This is also your opportunity to ask questions that you may not have remembered to ask during the interview – ensure they are relevant! (Check with your Consultant if in doubt.)
- Attach any information they have requested during interview or let them know when they will be receiving it (and ensure you can deliver on the promise!).
- Finally express your genuine interest.
- Don’t forget to call your Consultant to provide verbal feedback immediately after your interview. This can be the difference between you being favourably considered by the prospective employer – or rejected. By providing feedback quickly to your Consultant, we are able to liaise on your behalf with the employer to dispel any misconceptions the prospective employer may have about you before they become insurmountable objections.
